Working Dog Federation of Australia Inc (formerly Schutzhund Australia Inc) was formed in 2005.
We are dedicated to Dogsport, or Schutzhund/IGP as the international sport for Working Dogs, developing Australian teams for high performance competition.
We have Australia’s highest credentialed Judges and performance teams, putting the most titled IGP dogs into trials, both at home and internationally.
We support activities intended to preserve the characteristics, genetic vigour, service and sporting capabilities of working dog breeds such as German Shepherd Dogs, Belgian Shepherd Dogs, Rottweilers, Dobermans.
Our IGP Rules for Trials are those of the FCI with Australian variances.
WDFA accepts working titles obtained in trials sponsored by other recognised Schutzhund and IGP organisations, for example the Verein fuer Deutsche Schaeferhunde (SV) in Germany, United Schutzhund Clubs of America (USCA) as well as other recognised Australian Schutzhund/IGP organisations. All scorebooks issued by these recognised organisations are accepted by Schutzhund Australia, as are titles awarded by accredited trial judges of recognised organisations.
